Time Flies Like the Wind; Fruit Flies Like Bananas

I'll never forget that great joke that Mr. Barger told my class in 7th or 8th grade! It's so true. As I sit in the public libary tonight, my heart is filled with extreme gratitude for the best summer of my life, and it's overflowing with excitement for the second year of my adventure to Moscow. I've been home for 8.5 weeks, and I leave again in 1.5. The time here in the U.S. has been sweet, and I've savored every minute of it. As I only have a few minutes before the library closes, I'll share a very quick summary of the summer, and another update will be coming soon to recap the final stretch of the school year at Hinkson Christian Academy and to preview this coming year.

What a summer it's been! Filled with activity, it's been a relaxed busyness, and I've enjoyed it immensely. What did it entail? A mountain climbing trip to Colorado with two very close friends and accountability partners, having the honor of being the best man in my college roommate Jake Chastain's wedding, celebrating the 50th anniversary of my grandparents, Larry and Virginia Wright, ushering in the wedding of my dear friend Molly Taylor, a family camping trip to Harrisville, MI, an upcoming Hays boys baseball trip to Pittsburgh (we leave tomorrow), many rich conversations with dear friends and family, working side-by-side with my brother Lance doing yardwork and demolition, seeing Lance graduate from high school, thoroughly enjoying worshiping in my home church and sharing the joy of my year in Moscow, and spending many days, conversations, and unforgettable moments with my precious girlfriend Leigh (in person!!!). Pictures will be coming in the near future! Thank you, God, for the best summer of my life!
